Event Knowledge Service API
Welcome to the Microsoft Event Knowledge Service, a preview of cloud-based service employing event knowledge algorithms to cluster news that report things happening on the earth to event, categorize news to corresponding event, extract knowledge entities from each news and identify the dominant entities to represent the main topic in the event. Event Knowledge Service API provides three functions.
Given a date, the Event Knowledge Service returns trending events around the date sorted by hotness. Each event is associated with dominant entities and the information of the latest news (e.g. title, publish time, summary, etc.). To get all the news in the event, please refer to Get News in Given Event. The date should be valid and in the format of "yyyy-mm-dd", e.g. "2016-09-10".
Given a Wikipedia entity name, the Event Knowledge Service returns a list of related events sorted by event time. Each event is associated with dominant entities and the information of the latest news (e.g. title, publish time, summary, etc.). To get all the news in the event, please refer to Get News in Given Event. The Wikipedia entity name should be a valid Wikipedia entry name which can be obtained from dominant entities or other services, e.g. Entity Linking Service.
Given an event ID, the Event Knowledge Service returns all the news in the event. Each news is associated with dominant entities. The event ID should be in the format of GUID and can be obtained from Get Trending Events by Date and Get Events by Wikipedia Entity.
